Fringe and texture refinement troubleshooting guide

1. Describe what you can observe

Fringe and texture refinement adjust the final line, movement and weight around the most visible part of the haircut. Start with what is visible, audible or repeatable—not a judgement such as “it looks bad”.

Use the intended outcome as the reference: The goal is to make small changes after the hair has been assessed in its natural fall and likely styling pattern.

2. Isolate the variable

Check the plan, setup and sequence before changing several things at once. The four most useful reference points for this topic are:
